At a public meeting on 11 February 2025, the assembly of the “Interkommunales Gewerbe- und Industriegebiet Heidelberg-Leimen” special-purpose association adopted the resolution to draw up the “1st Etex Site Local Development Plan”. The plan area covers an area of around 12 hectares. It is bounded by Hatschekstraße to the north, a DIY store and a laboratory building to the east, the future relief road to the south, and the site of a steel and building materials trading company to the west. The aim of the partial development plan is the urban redevelopment of the former Etex site to create an area for commercial and industrial use, taking into account space-saving development, climate-adapted measures and a reorganisation of transport links.
The resolution was published in accordance with local practice on 26 March 2025 in the City of Heidelberg’s ‘Stadtblatt’ and on the City of Leimen’s website.
As part of the early public consultation process, members of the public can find out about the plans and submit their comments.
The planning documents will be available under ‘Further information’ from 25 May 2026 up to and including 26 June 2026.
It is also possible to view the documents during the aforementioned period at the association’s offices at Bürgermeister-Weidemaier-Straße 35, 69181 Leimen. The office is open to visitors Monday to Thursday from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm and on Fridays from 9.00 am to 1.00 pm.
