Framework Planning Starts
Cooperative Planning Process From July 12 – July 14, 2023

Building on the urban development concept, the Special-Purpose District commences work on the detailed framework plan. In a first three-day planning phase, six qualified planning agencies from Germany will create an urban development concept as part of a so-called cooperative planning process.

A cooperative planning process with integrated traffic planning is a two-phase procedure requiring the cooperation of planning agencies with a focus on commercial area planning and traffic planers to create an urban development concept for the Special-Purpose District’s territory as part of a first three-day phase. The urban development concept will be combined with a traffic concept. This cooperative process will see the collection of feedback on planning contents from the most important stakeholders, among them representatives of the Special-Purpose District, the relevant offices of the two municipalities as well as external consultants.  The Board of Trustees, consisting of external experts, local politicians and members of the two municipality administrations, will assess the urban development drafts and present the award. The winners of the first phase will advance to the second phase. During that phase, the planning agencies will hatch out the details of their concept to create a framework plan for the Special-Purpose District’s territory.
