EUR 3.2M – Highest Funding Amount in Baden-Württemberg

Christiane Staab, Convener of the Regional Development and Housing Committee of the State Parliament of Baden-Württemberg, visits the Inter-Municipal Commercial and Industrial Area

On May 5, 2023, the Zweckverband Interkommunales Gewerbe- und Industriegebiet Heidelberg-Leimen (Special-Purpose District Inter-Municipal Commercial and Industrial Area) received a notification of approval from the Ministerium für Landesentwicklung und Wohnen (Ministry of Regional Development and Housing), and in a first step, was awarded EUR 3.2 million within the framework of the urban development funding round 2023. The funding period stretches over 10 years until 2032. This was the highest funding amount accorded by the State of Baden-Württemberg as part of its urban development funding round 2023. Christiane Staab, Member of the State Parliament for the electorate Wiesloch and Convener of the Committee on Regional Development and Housing of the State Parliament of Baden-Württemberg, visited the area on May 17, 2023. Hans D. Reinwald, President of the Special-Purpose District and Mayor of Leimen, as well as Prof. Dr. Eckart Würzner, Deputy President and Mayor of Heidelberg, informed Christiane Staab about the current state of planning and further developments.
